Tanzania Immigration lists advance online application and visa on arrival as routes, and recommends the online platform. That does not make every traveler eligible for either route. Start with the government rules for your passport, travel document and trip purpose.
This website offers optional application assistance. Its availability and processing window are separate from government eligibility.
Check eligibility before comparing convenience
Use the government visa-free list first. If a visa is needed, read the official visa guidelines, including any referral conditions.
Referral cases require prior approval and cannot rely on ordinary arrival processing without it. This includes relevant nationality or travel-document cases, not only the country names someone remembers from a previous trip.

The fees guide separates the government tariff from this site's prices. An eVisa does not inherently require paying an agent's service fee: you can apply directly.
Timing for an online application
Government terms specify submitting ten days before travel, with two months for referral cases. This service instead publishes up to 15 business days and a form minimum of 12 days before arrival. These are different planning rules; twelve calendar days are not fifteen business days.
If your date is too close for this service, do not change it to a false later date. Check the relevant government route and ask the carrier what evidence is needed for boarding. A published minimum is not a promise that a decision will arrive by your flight.
If an online application is already pending
Track the existing file through the channel where you submitted it. Do not treat arrival processing as a free continuation of a paid eVisa.
The government's terms and non-refund policy address arriving before approval and possible additional visa payment. They also address duplicate online applications. Before another payment, establish whether the original file has been submitted, approved or refused, and seek guidance from Immigration where needed.
A payment receipt and an application ID show a transaction or file; they are not the grant notice.
Choosing a practical route
An advance eVisa lets you prepare and resolve document requests before travel. Keep the reference and approval accessible offline, and check that the passport and dates match the trip.
For visa on arrival, confirm eligibility for the actual passport and port, the documents expected, and payment arrangements. This guide does not promise a queue length, card acceptance or airline boarding decision. Ask the airline about your itinerary rather than relying on a friend's experience with another passport.

Whichever route you choose, Tanzanian immigration officers still decide admission. An approved eVisa does not remove the border check.
